Sligo Pubs and Nightlife

Sligo town is widely known for its traditional Irish pubs and all kinds of different style of live music, mainly talking about local rock and traditional Irish bands, famous musicians from all around the world, or individuals just willing to play or jam with friends for the sake of joy. From Monday to Sunday there are different gigs happening the Sligo restaurants and pubs all around the Sligo city center situated around the Garavouge river, the shortest river in the world.

The oldest and up to this date still open pub in Sligo is Thomas Connolly, right opposite of Glass House hotel across the delta bay of the river. But there are also other well established pubs that we would recommend to visit such as McGarigles, Swagman, Hargadons, Shoot the Crows, Fiddlers, Garavouge, Foleys, and a few more. The Sligo nightlife is very busy, especially on weekends with night clubs opened till early morning hours.

For those who would prefer other kinds of entertainment, the Omniplex Sligo cinema is open throughout the whole week, offering the newest movies that are freshly rolling out.
